After high school I wanted to attend a college that would allow me to gain a degree that would allow me to teach radio and television on the high school level. I had been so impressed with my radio broadcast teacher at Shortridge that I wanted to teach.  Ball State University was my logical choice.  Ball State is one of the highest ranked teachers colleges in the nation.  Today, the University has almost 20,000 students in many accredited programs.  I attended BSU from 1968 until 1976 when I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education majoring in Radio, Television and Film with a Journalism minor.  I did my student teaching at Muncie Central High School and my practice teaching at Burris Lab School. Check out information about Ball State University.

One of the more fun things I ever did was to pledge a fraternity. In the 1970's fraternities were not the most popular organizations. The Vietnam era was not overly supportive of the Greek movement on campus.  I found that my college years were much more rewarding as a result of becoming a Theta Chi Brother.  Theta Chi is a national fraternity that was founded in 1856.  It is one of the larger national organizations. Check out my chapter's web page Theta Chi Ball State.
