We mentioned our 3 year old Black Lab named Stokley, here he is in all his glory. He is a magnificent dog. He weighs over 100 pounds, comes from a Grand Field Champion breed and is the smartest dog I have ever owned. The fact that he comes from a working breed stock must have been lost at birth as this dog wouldn't know how to hunt and retrieve anything. In fact, this Lab doesn't take to water at all.  He is a fairly good guard dog as long as the bad guys don't figure it out; that he'll bark and bark at anyone, but will greet them with love and affection inside the front door. OOPS, this statement may have been a breech of security!

The four indoor cats rule the house.  They seem to like to stay in the basement at night sleeping with Corey on his waterbed. During the day they can be found lounging in any box, shelf or cubbyhole.  The two older cats are Mommy Cat (named for lack of any other name) and her son Hot Shot (seen sitting in the Mr. Freeze box). We found Mommy Cat up a tree outside our front door and didn't know that she was pregnant.  Recently, Vera saw that someone had a bunch of cats they wanted to give away.  We had just had to put our 12 year old cat to sleep, so we got two more.  They are Dorable (the black cat) and Twinkles (the Calico). By the way, I had nothing to do with naming these cats!

Our newest little bundle of joy is Hiedi. Hiedi is a dog. What kind of a dog, we don't know.  By the looks of her, she has chow, Golden Retriever, maybe some St. Bernard and a pinch of Collie.  Hiedi came from the Evanville City Pound.  This means we saved her from certain death, as our pound will only keep unwanted dogs for a few weeks.  I was the only descenting vote on the question of a new dog or not, but as you can see by the picture, Jesse wanted a dog and I was out voted 3 to1 and the dog won!
